Perched high atop a hill, overlooking the spectacular Bras d’Or Lakes, is a truly exhilarating experience.
Immerse yourself in over 120 years of the Scottish Gaels’ life in Nova Scotia. The Highland Village Museum is a living history museum that celebrates, promotes, and interprets the lives of Nova Scotia’s Gaels from 1780 to 1920. Their spirit is captured by costumed animators, and complemented by highland cattle and other farmyard animals set in a village of historic buildings.
The Village is also home to a well stocked gift shop and Roots Cape Breton Genealogy & Family History Centre.
